The shape

Every shape, built for you.

A cut is a silhouette, read from your face and texture. These are the shapes we build most, each finished the way you will wear it.

The Tara Rose Way
Cut · The Education

Why a cut is built, not just done.

Your cut looked right the day you left the chair, then a few weeks on it lost its shape or the frame stopped sitting, and you were not sure whether it was the cut or you.

What you might have been told

Just take a bit off. Same as last time. Layers will fix it.

Here’s what’s actually happening

A cut is architecture. Shape sets the silhouette, frame sets what your face reads, finish is what makes it hold at home. Skip any of the three and it grows out awkwardly.

It’s no wonder you didn’t know

Most women are handed a length, not a shape, so when it loses its frame at home they think they asked for the wrong thing.

That was never yours to work out alone.

What this means for you

Every cut at Tara Rose answers all three questions, in that order, at the mirror before we start.

The Tara Rose Truth

A cut is built. That is why it holds.

The Plan Tier Ladder · Cut

Shape, Frame, Finish.

A cut is not a length. It is a shape built in three parts, answered in order. Every cut answers all three. This is the architecture, not a menu to pick from.

Shape

Shape

What silhouette suits you now.

  • Read of your face shape, texture and density
  • The silhouette that flatters you as it moves
  • Weight and length mapped to how you wear it
  • The foundation everything else sits on
The first question. The shape everything else sits on.
Frame

Frame

What your face reads first.

  • Face-framing set to draw the eye where you want it
  • Layers that flatter your features, not fight them
  • The most visible part of the cut
  • The first to loosen as it grows
The second question. What the face reads.
Finish

Finish

What makes it hold at home.

  • Dry-cut detailing once the shape is dry and settled
  • Set and protected against the heat and humidity here
  • A home-styling method you can repeat
  • The half of the cut a wet cut never shows
The third question. What makes it hold.
The Cut Treatment Context

The treatments that pair with a cut.

A cut is a shape, and a treatment keeps that shape behaving between visits. Your stylist prescribes the right one alongside your cut, you do not choose blind.

Prescribed alongside a cut

Hydration & Frizz

When the ends read dry and the humidity fights the finish. Moisture and a seal settle the frizz so the shape sits.

Prescribed alongside a cut

Strength

When breakage or heat damage is blurring the ends. Rebuilds the structure so the frame stays crisp longer.

Prescribed alongside a cut

Colour Longevity

When the cut sits over colour that needs holding. Keeps the tone and shine so the whole result reads fresh.

Treatments are skincare for your hair.

The Tara Rose Belief
Cut · The Education

Why cuts grow out awkwardly.

A cut grows out awkwardly when one of the three questions was skipped. A shape with no frame reads shapeless as it lengthens. A frame with no finish drops the day after the appointment. A finish set on the wrong shape never sits at all. It is almost never the length that failed, it is one of the three going unanswered. That is why we integrate shape, frame and finish into one cut, in that order, so nothing is left to grow out on its own.

The Blow-dry Rhythm

What keeps a cut looking like the day it was done.

Three steps, one rhythm. The cut sets the shape, the blow-dry shows it, the home routine repeats it.

1Haircut & Finish

Shape, frame and finish built together, so the silhouette and the frame are set before you leave the chair.

2Blow-dry

The finish that shows the shape and protects it against the heat and humidity here, set the way you will repeat it.

3Home routine

A method you can repeat, matched to your hair, so the finish does not fade the day after your visit.

The Cut Consultation

What happens at the mirror.

Before the scissors move, we answer the three questions together at the mirror. We read your face shape, texture and density, and name the shape that suits you now. We set the frame around your face and agree what you want it to draw the eye to. Then we plan the finish, the way it is styled to leave and the method you repeat at home. You leave with a cut that was built, and a full quotation, never a guess.

What you need to know

Frequently asked questions.

How often should I cut?
A shape holds its frame about six to eight weeks. Caught on rhythm, it is a quick reshape, not starting over. The exact interval is matched to your shape and your hair at consultation, and booked ahead so it never loses the frame.
Can I just come in for a trim?
Yes, and a trim is still built. We answer the same three questions, shape, frame and finish, on a shorter scale, so a maintenance visit keeps the architecture rather than only removing length. That is what stops a trim slowly blurring the cut.
Do you do fringes?
Yes. A fringe is a frame decision, so we read your face shape and how you wear your hair before we cut one. Fringes loosen fastest, so we set the shape and give you a way to keep it sitting between visits.
How do you keep the shape between visits?
The finish and the home routine do the holding. We set and protect the finish against the heat and humidity here, prescribe a treatment if the hair needs it, and leave you a method you can repeat. That was never yours to work out alone.
What is the investment for a cut?
Pricing appears only at consultation, and every cut is quoted before you book. The cost depends on the shape your hair needs and the finish to hold it, and your stylist talks you through all of it at the mirror.
Do you cut curly hair specifically?
Yes. Curls change how shape, frame and finish behave, so we read the curl pattern and density first and cut to how it dries, not how it sits wet. Curls is a treatment on our menu too, matched at consultation to keep the definition between cuts.
The Full Loop

Great hair is not one visit. The plan is what makes it last.

Colour, cut, treatments and home care, all held on one rhythm. This is how your hair stays on it.

ColourHaircutTreatmentsHome CareMaintenance

We don't just create great hair. We keep it that way.

Great hair was never one appointment held forever. The water and heat here pull at it, and it drifts if it is left alone. No one ever showed you the rhythm that holds it, and that was never yours to work out alone.

Left alone, hair drifts from where you loved it, and the fix becomes a full reset: more time, more cost. On the loop, it never gets that far. A rhythm of visits keeps the colour true, the shape sharp, the condition strong, and the result exactly where you left it.

Keep on Track

A quick reshape before the frame ever loses its line. Caught on rhythm, it is a reshape, never a restyle.

Off the loop

The slow grow-out of shape

  • The frame loosens, the shape grows heavy by week eight
  • The next visit is a restyle, not a reshape
  • A full restyle costs more than staying on rhythm
  • You never quite feel freshly cut
On the loop

A cut that always reads sharp

  • Reshaped before the frame ever loses its line
  • Every visit is quick and predictable
  • A smaller, steady spend, never a big reset
  • Always freshly cut, never grown out

Your cut stays exactly the shape it was built to be.

This is the plan, not a single appointment. One conversation sets your rhythm, and we keep your cut sharp from there.
