Your maintenance window.
You book when you notice. The roots show, or the tone has gone, or there is an event, and you ring us. That is how most of us do it, and it is why the result never quite holds the way it did the first time.
What you might have been told
That you come back when you need to. That the gap between appointments is up to you, and a good result should simply last until you are ready. Nobody ever put a number on it, so you filled the gap with whatever life allowed.
Here’s what’s actually happening
Every result we create has a window, and the window is not the same as the look. The colour in the mirror on the day is the whole job finished. What decides whether it is still there in a month is the toner, and the toner is always the first thing to go. It is like SPF, it wears off and needs topping up, and it does not announce itself when it does. So the fade you notice is not the colour failing. It is a window that closed while nobody was counting. A soft, lived-in blonde holds a refresh at about week four. A signature blonde, where the line it grows out from shows, wants a root toner at around week three. A cut holds its shape for roughly six to eight weeks before the frame loosens. Those are not suggestions we make up for each woman. They are how long the work actually lasts.
It’s no wonder you didn’t know
Nobody told you there was a window. You were handed a beautiful result and left to guess when it needed attention, so of course you guessed by looking in the mirror. By the time the mirror tells you, the window has already shut, and the appointment that follows is a correction rather than a top-up. It is no wonder it kept feeling like starting again. That was never yours to work out alone.
What this means for you
Once you know your window, the whole thing gets easier and cheaper. You are booking a refresh instead of a rescue. The appointments are shorter, they cost less, and your colour never drops below the line you liked it at. We will tell you your window on your first visit, in weeks, out loud, and we will put the next one in the diary before you leave. Not to lock you in. Because a date is the only thing that beats a good intention. Your colour is one part of it. Great hair is not one visit. The plan is what makes it last, and the plan is colour, cut, treatments and home care, all held on one rhythm.
